Libby Lofts was originally constructed in 1917 and was designed by the architects Whitehouse and Pierce in the Collegiate Gothic Style (pdf). The east wing was added in the 1930’s. Since its construction, the building has served as Libby’s Senior High School, Lincoln Elementary School, and an extension for Flathead Valley Community College.
The building is currently being renovated as an eco-friendly environment with the utilization of modern and efficient building techniques. The installation of new electrical systems, plumbing systems, mechanical systems and energy efficient windows will result in an energy cost savings to the owners and tenants. When complete, this building will offer luxurious custom residential and business units that enrich the ambience and charm of this historic brick building. Custom options are available in all units – you can choose your preferred options before construction and customize your residential or business unit to meet your individual needs.
The building will be ADA (American Disability Association) compliant and have a secure entry, elevator, large stairwells (third floor and rooftop access with pass key only), wide corridors, a common outdoor space with seating areas in a park like setting, a rooftop garden deck with stunning views of the majestic Cabinet Mountains, and private parking spaces for all units. Additional covered parking will be available for purchase.
Libby Lofts is centrally located in downtown Libby. The Lofts are within walking distance to the Kootenai River, the city's businesses, parks and events. They are adjacent to the Memorial Center which hosts Nordicfest, the Irish Fair, St John’s Festival of Trees, plays, and many other activities.
